Research Colloquium on the Theology of Catholic EducationDownload iCal Event
Location: Heythrop College
What ought to be the place of theology in guiding our practice in Catholic Education?
This one-day colloquium provides a unique opportunity to engage in the challenging debates surrounding the relationship between Catholic Theology and Catholic Education.
The spotlight will be on the two leading Jesuit theologians of the Vatican II era, Lonergan and Rahner, on what we can still learn from them for the benefit of Catholic Education e.g:
- About the (neglected?) relationship between theology and general education
- About the inter-relationship between theology and philosophy of education
- About the idea of ‘a Catholic curriculum’
- About the overall ‘discourse’ of Catholic education.
Confirmed speakers include Dr Paddy Walsh, Dr Brendan Carmody SJ, Dr Michael Kirwan SJ and Dr Sean Whittle
The cost of attending the colloquium will be £30 with lunch included. Please use the BOOK NOW link above.
