HIRS and the RLI are holding a one-day colloquium on the current situation of Religious Congregations and Catholic Schools.

In recent years we have been exploring a range of issues connected with Catholic education.  Over the next year we want to develop this further by considering the roles and relationship between religious congregations and the schools that these orders originally founded and in many instances still continue to support.  We are keen to identify ways in which we could support congregations in their work with schools with a religious foundation.

Before we launch more formally into a research project that explores the current relationship between religious congregations and schools founded by these orders, we would like to consult with you and members of your congregation.  We are aware that research in this area, conducted by Professor Gerald Grace, is now approaching 15 years old.  It is important to consider if concerns over a deficit in spiritual capital have materialised. Given this we would like to establish a more accurate grasp of the current situation.  We would like to garner a better picture of the contemporary relationship between different congregations and the schools they originally founded.

Cost: Standard £25
